Email is widely recognised as the
definitive communication channel of the Internet Age, and as a business
tool, email has become almost as ubiquitous as the telephone.
Correctly applied, email is a low cost, highly effective marketing medium,
which continues to achieve attractive response rates.
Many organisations lack the infrastructure and skills required to manage
high volume email delivery. Coupled with the increase in unsolicited
emails (spam), this has led to intolerance by customers for poorly
designed or badly managed email communications.
SMS
SMS is fast becoming a quick and effective communication tool with is
quick delivery. Many more people have access to cellular communication
than internet access with an email account.
If correctly managed, SMS is a relatively low cost communication medium,
which achieves very good response rates.
Many organisations lack the infrastructure to provide SMS facilities that
are non-invasive and provide the customer with a simple and in-expensive
way to remove themselves from the SMS listings.
